A disaster management office was opened at Shwekyin Township General Administration Department this morning.
Officials from the disaster management office provided rice and drinking water to a total of 1928 people from 400 households in 11 rescue camps.
Due to the increase in water level in Sittaung River and Shwekyin River, low-lying areas in Shwekyin town are experiencing inundation. More helps from well-wishers is needed because the number of rescue camps and flood victims are expected to rise.
