Disaster victims from Pwintbyu Twsp furnished with cash, food

Accompanied by local cabinet members and township level officials, Chief Minister of Magway Region Dr Aung Moe Nyo met 36 households from natural disaster affected villages in Pwintbyu Township on November 15.


The evacuation of landslide-hit victims who became relocated due to river bank erosion of the Ayeyawady River were carried out by staff from the General Administration Department, Fire Services Department, policemen, volunteers from local social organizations and residents.


The chief minister and his entourage provided Ks 100,000 each to 36 families from three villages and food supplies. In addition, U Zaw Ko, Managing Director of Aung Padetha Construction Co., from Magway donated Ks 30000 each to the victims and a local social organization distributed food to them.


Local authorities are making arrangements for the relocation of disaster victims who have difficulty finding land to evacuate due to the landslide. No casualties were reported in the landslide.
