Driver, colleague die as truck plunges into creek in Mansi Township

Two men were killed after a 12-wheeled truck plummeted into a creek in Mansi Township, Kachin State, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The fatal accident occurred between mileposts 32 and 33 on the Momauk-Lwejel Road near Byinwai Village, Mansi Township at about 4 p.m. on 8 March. A 12-wheeled truck driven by a man named Aung Thu Win, 28, together with his colleague Zaw Myo Win, 19, plunged into a creek after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The two men were pronounced dead on the scene and their corpses were sent to a public hospital in Lwejel for autopsy. An action is being taken against the driver over reckless driving by the local police.—MOHA
