Driver killed as truck hits rain tree in Kyaukdaga

The driver was killed after a truck crashed onto a rain tree on the Yangon-Mandalay old road in Kyaukdaga Township, Bago Region this morning.

The 14-wheeled truck carrying iron roads was heading to Mandalay from Yangon and was driven by a man identified as Nyein Chan Tun, 35 years old from Thazi Township, Mandalay. The truck hit a rain tree beside the road after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The truck driver was pronounced dead on the spot in the accident. In connection with the case, action is being taken against the driver by the local police station.—Khin Ko (Kyaukdaga)
