Drugs confiscated in different townships

Policemen from Naba police outpost in Indaw Township on 24 March intercepted a motorbike driven by Win Kyaw with Ma Oo Mya Yi (a) Than Win and Kyaw Zin Myint onboard at Naba Junction on Shwebo-Myitkyina Road and discovered heroin weighing 432 grams and 133 stimulant tablets from them.

In a similar incident, policemen from Maungtaw District Police Station the same day also searched the house of Ulamya in Yuathitkay Ward, Maungtaw and found Ulamyan and Sharukhan at the house. The authorities continued searching the house and confiscated 97305 stimulant pills in the house.

Similarly, security forces on 23 March searched a hut in a farmland in Mungsi Apaingnamt Taung Village in Kutkai Township and seized 14975 stimulant tablets and heroin weighing 200 grams and a pistol, its five bullets and a magazine.

Security forces also stopped a motorbike driven by a man near Manna Village, Lashio Township on 21 March but the man managed to escape but dropped his bag down.  Authorities searched the bag and found 7600 stimulant tablets inside according to Information released by the Myanmar Police Force.

The authorities filed charges against all the suspects under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances law.—MPF
