Drugs confiscated in some Townships

A combined team consisting of members of Anti-Drug Squad searched a suspected woman, identified as Ma Kyu Aye in Tamailung Village in Bhamo Township of Kachin State at about 12:20 pm on February 14 and seized 2000 stimulant tablets. After making some interrogations, a combined team raided the house of Naw Ba in Tamailung Village at 12:35 pm on the same day and confiscated 1400 stimulant tablets.

 

In a similar incident, a combined team comprising members of Anti-Drug Squad stopped and searched a TOYOTA HIACE vehicle near Yadanabon Bridge in Takaung Ward in Sintgaing Township of Mandalay Region and confiscated 9.8 kilos of raw opium on the car.

 

In addition, a combined team comprising members of Magway Region Police Force searched an ISUZU vehicle driven by Aung Ko Lat with Myint Zaw and Lin Lin Htike  on board near Shwechaung Village in Magway Region at 6:30 pm on February 13 and apprehended them along with 240000 stimulant tablets. The offenders have been prosecuted under the country’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MNA
