A local police squad seized drugs and weapons in a house raid in Hpa-an Township, Kayin State, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.
A combined team raided the house of a drug suspect named Ye Pain (alias) Khin Kyaw Aung Htwe from Tayoke Hla Village at about 2:15 p.m. and confiscated 1,003 stimulant tablets in the house. The joint squad also made a surprise check in a house of suspect identified as Nyaun Tun in the same house. Members of the combined team shot the suspect who attempted to open fire on the anti-drug squad and seized one pistol, eight bullets, and one 40 mm grenade launcher.
The drug suspects have been taken action under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by the local police.—MOHA
