Eight detained on suspicion of being AA members; arms, ammunition, aids discovered at monastery in MraukU Tsp

Security  forces  arrested  eight  villagers  in  Mrau-kU  on  suspicion  of  being  members  of  the  Arakan  Army-AA on 20 June.

 


The  security  forces  conducting proper securi-ty operation near Waitharli Village in  MraukU Town-ship  found  the  suspects  —  one  from  Makyarse  Village,  four  from  Pauk-tawpyin Village, one from Buywatnyo  Village,  one  from  Oakphokan  Villager  and  one  from  Donthein  Village  —  and  detained  them for necessary inter-rogation.

 


Acting  on  a  tip-off,  the security forces and lo-cal  authorities  searched  Thinkyittaung Monastery east  of  Pauktawpyin  Vil-lage  on  21  June  and  dis-covered homemade guns, ammunition,  improvised  explosive  devices  and  accessories,  uniforms,  military  materials,  WFP  brand aids and other food, and medicines, according to  the  Office  of  the  Com-mander-in-Chief  of  De-fence Services. —MNA
