Election results to be announced at noon, 4 pm, 8 pm on MRTV, state-run newspapers, UEC websites, FB page daily in a timely manner: UEC DG U Khin Maung Oo

The process of counting votes has started at all polling stations nationwide since yesterday evening following the voting successfully ended at 4 pm, according to the Union Election Commission.

 

“The chairman of the Union Election Commission and staff of the commission are ready at the Nay Pyi Taw head office yesterday, and arrangements are made to solve possible problems,” said U KhinMaungOo, Director-General of the UEC.

 

“We can say that the 2020 General Election concluded successfully without big problems,” he added.

 

He elaborated the counting process saying that polling stations would send the list of voting results to their respective township election commission offices , and the township offices would compile the lists and send to region and state offices which will confirm winners.

 

The region and state election commission office would send the list and winners of the respective township constituencies to the Nay Pyi Taw Head Office for approval.

 

When the Head Office approved the winners, the state and region offices will announced them while the election results are also announced on MRTV, UEC website and FB at noon, 4 pm and 8 pm respectively and also in the state-run newspapers.—Han Lin Naing
