Emphasis placed on tourism promotion in Ayeyawady Region

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Thet Thet Khine and Chief Minister of Ayeyawady Region U Tin Maung Win visited Azura Hotel in Chaungtha Beach to hold a meeting with government offi­cials and businesspersons in the hotels and tourism industry on 24 February.

 

She discussed importance of main­taining cleanliness and promoting sus­tainability at Chaungtha Beach, lower number of foreign visitors to the beach than local visitors and the need for coop­eration between the public and private sectors to strengthen travel campaigns.

 

Additionally, the Chief Minister pro­vided insights into travel destinations at the beach, promotional efforts, clean­liness initiatives, and human resource development endeavours.

 

The Union minister visited New Chaungtha Hotel to observe its oper­ations. The following day, she visited more hotels and stopped at the Sea & Lake Resort to check its operations regarding ecotourism service and the mangrove forest bridge.

 

At Pathein Hotel, she briefed the attendees on the ministry’s initiatives and aspirations and addressed the chal­lenges they face.

 

Later, she paid homage to the Shwemokhtaw Pagoda and inspected the pilgrimage facilities. Her tour also included an exploration of Strand Road in Pathein. — MNA/NT
