Palaw, 22 August
In commemoration of International Democracy Day which falls on September 15, township level essay, poem and painting competitions for high school and middle school level students were held at the Basic Education High School in the town of Palaw, Tanintharyi region this morning.
29 students competed in high school level painting, poem and essay competitions with a theme “let’s build democracy towards peace for general public” while 22 students participated in middle school level painting, poem and essay competitions.
A total of 50 high school and middle school level students of outstanding ability in the township competed in the competitions. —Htoo Wai Yan (IPRD)
