Maubin 13 December
A ceremony to release fingerlings into natural lakes in Maubin Township, Maubin District, Ayeyawady Region was held on December 13.
The occasion was attended by Chairman and members of District Administration Council and officials from the Department of Fisheries. They then released 600,000 fish species of different kinds into the river.
With the aims of increasing fish species and ensuring fish consumption, the Department of Fisheries is undertaking the release of fingerlings into natural pounds, lakes, creeks, rivers, dams and paddy fields across the nation.
