Tachilek, 24 March
No casualties were reported after a fire broke out in a village in Tachilek, Eastern Shan State at about 7:25 p.m. on 23 March.
The fire is attributed to have started from an overheated electric kettle in the kitchen of a house belonging to Sai Yi from Sinaw-2 Village. Local firefighters together with residents took over an hour to put out the blaze by using fire engines, water tankers and fire extinguishers.
No one was injured but one house and one motorbike were consumed by the fire. Action is being taken against the house owner over fire negligence by the local police station.—Khaing Lin (IPRD)
