Nyaung-U, December 30
Fire totally destroyed two staff-houses beside Nyaung-U-Kyauk Padaung road near Taungba village, Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay region yesterday afternoon.
The fire started at 2:50 pm from the embers of the rubbish fire, made by Nay Lin Aung, near the staff-houses, built for staff of Myat Noe Thu Construction Company operating Nyaung-U-Kyauk padaung motor road under BOT system. Fire fighters, three fire engines and one water truck were pressed into service to fight the fire. The firefighters took more than half an hour to bring the fire under control.
Local police pressed charges against Nay Lin Aung, a staff of the construction company in connection of the fire.—Ye Win Naing ( Nyaung-U)
