Fire Service Department donates drinking water to village facing water scarcity

Naungtaya, Mar 12

Officials from Fire Service Department donated drinking water to Hti-Thapyay village  in Pinlaung township, Pa-O Self-Administered Zone in Shan state this morning.

 Hti-Thapyay village in Lwemaw village-tract is 12 miles away from the town of Naungtaya and now facing scarcity of drinking water due to decrease in sources of water in summer. Officials from Naungtaya Town Fire Services this morning went to the village to donate drinking water with three fire engines, each engine with a capacity of 1600 gallons of water. There are 45 households in the village.

“We have few water ponds in the village. The township Rural Development Department had built a water pond for the village but it is not enough for the village population. So, I want to invite well-wishers to donate and build water ponds for the village”, the head of the village said.—Khung Aung (Naungtaya IPRD)
