Fire torches poultry farm in Indaw Township

A fire broke out at a poultry farm in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region, according to a source from the township Fire Services Department.

         

The accident occurred at a poultry farm in Inn Ywa village near Indaw-Bhamo Road in Indaw Township at about 6 p.m. yesterday. A police squad led by Sub-Police Inspector Phyo Thu Kyaw rushed to the scene of fire. The fire is believed to have started from a chicken coop heat, said an official from the township Fire Services Department.

         

The fire engulfed seven buildings, two warehouses, about 50 chickens and 500 baskets of paddy. The poultry farm owner identified as Dr. San Oo has been taken action by the local police over fire negligence. —Lu Aung (Katha)
