Fish planting ceremony to mark 76th anniversary of Independence Day held in Magway Twsp.

The Department of Fisheries held a fish planting ceremony to mark 76th anniversary of Independence Day at Nyaungkoebin Port on the bank of Irrawaddy River in Magway Township, Magway Region for preventing the extinction of fish species this morning.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister of Magway Region government U Tint Lwin and officials of the District and Township Administration Bodies and departmental staff. At the event, a total of 300,000 fingerlings were added to the river.

With the aim of preventing the extinction of fish species, increasing fish resources, promoting fish production and ensuring food security, fish planting ceremonies are being held by Department of Fisheries in Magway Region every year.—Aung Ko (IPRD)
