No casualties were reported in a motorcar workshop fire in Myawady, a border town in Kayin State, the Ministry of Home Affairs said.
The fire broke out at a motorcar workshop belonging to U Soe Thein, 58, from Phar Chaung Village, Myawady Township at about 10:55 p.m. on 18 January. The blaze engulfed one facility and destroyed five vehicles badly. The fire is believed to have started from an overheated electric wire and had ceased about an hour later.
In connection with the case, the owner of the motorcar workshop is being investigated by a local police station over fire negligence.—MOHA
