Mandalay, 13 February
A five-year girl has died in a fire at a staff apartment for the Mandalay Development Committee in Seinpan Ward, Maha Aungmyay Township in Mandalay.
The fire started when a nine-year old boy cooked rice by using dried wood in the kitchen. The fire spread to a wall of bamboo matting, engulfing ten nearby houses and a five-year kid.
The fire started at about 7:22 a.m. and was completely put out about 15 minutes later with the use of 25 fire engines, three administrative vehicles, five water tankers and 150 firefighters.—Tin Zar Hlaing (IPRD)
