Floodwaters from Ayeyawady River force five schools to close temporarily

Five schools in Myinmu Township, Sagaing Region have been closed temporarily as of today due to rising floodwaters from the Ayeyawady River.
    

 

One primary school in Ywathit Village, one primary school in Seiktha Village, one middle school in Letkabin Village, one post primary school in Sappangon Village and a middle school (branch) in Ashaepine Ward were among the closed schools, according to the township education office. 
    

 

Line departments are making arrangements for 846 students who attend the flooded schools to give a chance to study on Saturday and Sunday. The water level of Ayeyawady River in Myinmu Township is 1146 centimeters, four centimeters under its danger mark.—Aung Soe Pe (Myinmu)
