Floodwaters wipe out farmland, paddy in Nagmon Township

Some paddy seedling fields in Nagmon Township, Kachin State were inundated with rain after the combination of heavy rains and strong winds, damaged acres of farmland and tons of paddy.

The floodwaters destroyed about 300 baskets of paddy which was owned by 140 farmers from some villages and wards and was stored in granaries. Around 57 acres of farmland that belong to 140 farmers were submerged by the floodwaters, according to a source from the Department of Agriculture.
