In facilities where medical doctors are not present, nurses are more than capable of taking the lead in implementing essential public health measures.

To attain professional competence in the field of nursing, both male and female nurses must complete a rigorous curriculum of training courses, including diplomas, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and even doctoral studies often pursued both domestically and abroad. In 2023, the Ministry of Health elevated the status of 137 nurses to the rank of matron, underscoring the commitment to career progression. Hundreds of newly minted nurses from various institutions have been deployed to central hospitals and general hospitals, all ready to deliver essential healthcare services to the populace.
