Four illegal migrant workers handed over

Four illegal Myanmar migrant workers who worked illegally in Thailand were handed over by Thai authorities to their Myanmar counterparts at No 2 Myanmar-Tachilek Friendship Bridge in Tachilek, Shan State yesterday.

 


Thai authorities handed over Myanmar migrant workers who were without proper documents to Myanmar through Myanmar departmental officials and local authorities of relevant departments.     

 


The returnee workers were sent to their places of origin after being provided with health care with the help of the Township General Administration Department, Labor, Immigration and Population Department, Anti-Human Trafficking squad of Myanmar Police Force, Department of Labor, Caring and Negotiating Committee for Myanmar Citizens in Mae Sai, Thailand (CNCMC).

 


Altogether 486 illegal Myanmar migrant workers—303 male, 163 female and 20 children—were handed over by the Thailand to Myanmar between 1 January and March 26 this year.—Sai Aung Zaw Lin
