Government continues repatriating Myanmar citizens during COVID-19

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working in line with guidelines issued by the National Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 and cooperating with Myanmar embassies abroad to bring back Myanmar citizens facing difficulties caused by the global pandemic in other countries.

A relief flight from Myanmar Airways International (MAI) brought back 74 Myanmar citizens from Qatar, Italy, Brazil, France, Iran and Australia to Yangon International Airport yesterday evening. The Union government has brought back 3,764 Myanmar citizens in this manner thus far.

The returnees received were medical examinations and moved to the mandatory quarantine for 21 days as arranged by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, Ministry of Health and Sports, and the Yangon Region government. —MNA
