Gov’t officials present relief items to flood victims in Hlaingbwe

Local authorities furnished the flood victims from Kamar Kachu Village-tract in Hlaingbwe Township who were evacuated to a cyclone shelter due to rising water level of the Hlaingbwe Creek with cash and kind on 3 August.

Kayin State Minister for Social Affairs U Bo Bo Wai Maung presented Ks. 296,100 donated by the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement to a village administrator to purchase rice for 141 flood victims from 24 households. Similarly, Technical Commanding Officer Col Min Zaw also provided the flood victims with instant noodles and eggs.

Next, the regional minister, the technical commanding officer, Director of the DDM U Lin Htut, Township Administrator U Min Thein an concerned officials viewed round the flooded wards and villages by boat.—IPRD
