Authorities seized two men with a haul of drugs believed to be opium blocks near Maw Taung or Sawkalutchaung, Meik District, Tanintharyi Region yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, policemen led by Police Capt Aung Kyaw Moe with witnesses yesterday searched Nyi Nyi (a) Khet Ko Soe, 29, son of U Phe Aye of Kyansittha Ward, Ward-1, Maw Taung and Thein Htike, 34, son of U Sa, of Myoma Ward, Maw Taung and discovered kratom in 12 polythene bags weighing 307 kilos worth K 19.95 million.
Authorities filed charges against the two under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
