One man was killed and one other injured in a head-on collision between two trucks in Tatkon Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.
The fatal accident took place at a road bridge near milepost 247/7 on the Yangon-Mandalay old road in Tatkon Township at about 5:30 p.m. on 22 January. A 22-wheeled truck driven by a man named Hsan Lin, 30 years together with Win Thein collided with a 12-wheeled truck coming from an opposite direction and plunged into a small creek. The driver of 12-wheeled truck identified as Chit Ko Naing was pronounced dead on the spot and his colleague Aung Kyaw Zeya sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The corpse of the 12-wheeled truck driver has been sent to a public hospital in Tatkon for medical examination. The 22-wheeled truck driver is being questioned by the local police over reckless driving, the ministry added.—MOHA
