Health workers, volunteers from Ayeyarwady Centre in Yangon receive COVID-19 vaccine

Doctors, nurses and volunteers were vaccinated against COVID-19 at the Ayeyarwady Centre in Yangon yesterday, together with a cash contribution of well-wishers yesterday morning. Deputy Director-General for region Public Health Department Dr Tun Myint, Chairman of Ayeyarwady Foundation U Zaw Zaw, the well-wishers and other officials attended the ceremony.


On the first day of Covishield vaccination programme in Myanmar, more than 200 healthcare workers and volunteers of AYA centre were also vaccinated for their first dose, and the remaining staff of the centre will receive vaccinations on 28 and 29 January.


Deputy Director-General Dr Tun Myint received the cash donation and expressed words of thanks to the donors.


The Ayeyarwady Foundation donated K2 billion to purchase COVID-19 vaccine while the family of U Thadoe Hein and Daw Soe Mar Lar K200 million, AYA SOMPO Insurance K100million, Farmers Choice Tractor Co.,Ltd US dollar 100,000, U Aung Zin+ Daw Win Kyi, son Ko Myat Thura Aung Zin and daughter Ma Khin Myint Myat K20 million, U Win Zaw family K20 million, U Myint Zaw and Daw Hnin Moe Hlaing K5 million and Ashro Group of Companies donated Godrej brand Vaccine Storage Fridge worth of K22 million.
