Heart surgery performed on children with Congenial Heart Defect ( CHD) succeed

Yankin Childern Hospital, Heart Specialist team performed heart surgeries on 50 children with Congenital Heart Disease — CHD, in collaboration with Japan-based Akemichan Fund in the last week of September.


All surgeries were reported to be successful.


The surgeries were carried out form September 23rd to 27th.


This collaboration is made possible by the Ministry of Health and Sport. This is the 9th collaboration. So far, they successfully performed surgery on 400 patients.


For these surgeries, it was reported that professors form Yankin Children Hospital : Prof Dr Win Win Kyaw, Prof Dr Aung Thu , Prof Dr Khin Maung Oo, Prof Dr Aye Aye, and Associated Professor Dr Khin Yin Yin Htwe and paediatrician Dr Kyu Kyu Soe collaborated with the doctor form Akemichan Fund, Hajime Ichikawa( Cardiac Surgeon ), and Professor Sugiyama Hisashi ( cardiologist), on this project.


“Apart from these collaboration, the ministry supports technical assistance and machineries. We can gave treatment to a lot of people as many doctors were sent abroad to study. There has been reduction of patients in the waiting list. This kind of projects do much good to patients .” Head of Yankin Children’s hospital Dr Myint Myint Khaing.


Head of Yakin Children’s hospital delivered the Certificate of Appreciation to the Akemichan Fund for the successful surgeries, on September 28th. Cardiology Unit and Cardiac Surgery ward at Yankin Children’s Hospital are giving treatment to children with CHD.
