Highlanders donate food supplies to residents in Myaungmya

A truck carrying crops and vegetables donated by local people from Pindaya Area in Southern Shan State arrived in Myaunmya Township, Ayeyawady Region with the arrangement of Dr. Than Min Htut, a philanthropic doctor.

The food supplies will be distributed to monasteries, nunneries and the needy people and volunteers and well-wishers will join the food donation, said Ko Wai Lin Aung, a youth volunteer from a local philanthropic association. The crops include 200 viss of egg-plants, 700 viss of tomatoes, 20 viss of garlic, 600 viss of onion, 300 viss of potatoes, cabbages, dried tea, dried onion and some vegetables.

Local people from Myaungmya Region also will give back locally-produced goods such as rice, fish paste and fish sauce to highlanders from Pindaya Area who contributed food supplies to people in Pathein amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic recently.—Thin Yanant (Myaungmya)
