Illegal sawn padauk timbers were seized in Htilin Township, Gangaw District, Magway Region yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team comprising personnel from the Township Forest Department, Police members from Kyin Police Outpost in collaboration with locals searched a six-wheel truck on Htilin-Kyin-Pauk Road near Kyin Village in Htilin Township and arrested two suspects along with 34 sawn padauk timbers weighing 2.66 tons.
Action is being taken against the two in accordance with the forest Law.—Aung Si, IPRD
