An earthen lake is being dredged in Myaychar Village, Minhla Township in Magway Region, according to the Department of Rural Development.
Improvement of the lake began early this month and it has been about 90 percent finished. The project is slated to be completed ahead of the rainy season, said U Min Zaw Han, Staff Officer from the DRD. Residents joined local authorities in digging the lake and taking preparatory measures to store water during the rainy season.
The earthen lake measuring 50 ft. in length, 50 ft. in width and 5 ft. in height is being dredged by spending Ks. 9 million of interest rates from the Emerald Green Project. Upon completion, the lake will benefit 1,351 locals from 323 households.—Nyein Thu (Salin)
