INDAW team won the U-14 Football Tournament 2019 by defeating Htigyaing (Wontho) team 2-0 at Yan Gyi Aung Stadium in Shwebo yesterday.
In the third place match, Bamauk secured third place by defeating Kawlin team 3-2.
The awards ceremony was held after the final match. The champion of the tourney, the Indaw team, received a trophy plus K 1 million, along with individual medals.
In the meantime, first-runners up Htigyaing (Wontho) team took K 500,000 plus individual medals, and third-place team Bamauk received K 300,000 and individual medals.
The cleanest award was garnered by Kawlin team, as the team received K 200,000 plus a medal. Likewise, the best striker award was earned by Striker Moe Lwin Hein from Kawlin team, the best Defender Award was grabbed by Aung Myo Htet from Banmauk team, the best Goal Keeper Award was given to Nyan Myint Tun from Indaw team, the Most Goals Scored Award was taken by Phoe Chit from Kawlin team and the Best Player award went to Han Min Soe from Indaw team.
The tourney is in the Sagain Region level, and was sponsored by Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications. The U-14 football tourney is popular in Myanmar, with the aim of encouraging new talented youth footballers.
Similar types of U-14 football tourneys will also be held in Yangon, Magway, Pa-An, Taunggyi, Bago, Mawlamyaing, Pathein and Sittway, according to the Myanmar National League. — Lynn Thi (Tgi)
