A ceremony to mark the 12th International Day of Yoga was held on 21 June at the Thuwunna National Indoor Stadium in Yangon.

Yoga practices can provide various health benefits, so the public should engage in them, stated the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, Shri Abhay Thakur.

During the ceremony, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu and the Indian Ambassador gave opening speeches.

The ambassador emphasized the benefits of practising yoga regularly, noting that it can help people lead healthier and fitter lives. With guidance from a yoga instructor, the attendees engaged in basic yoga poses, breathing techniques, stretching, and stress-relieving exercises for approximately 40 minutes. — TWA/ZS
