Informative talk held in Wundwin Tsp

An informative talk about Myanmar Women’s Day was held at the monastery in Ywashe village, Phaya Phyu village-tract inWundwin Township, Meiktila district, Mandalay region yesterday afternoon with introductory speeches by MP U Soe Min of the region hluttaw and township administrator U Myo Tint, who is also the chairman of Township Women Affairs Committee.

 

Then, Daw Khin Lay Khaing, a member of the committee explained the background history of Myanmar Women’s Day and police sub-Inspector Kyaw Swa Lin talked about underage rape cases. Daw Wai Mar Lin, the township associate law officer explained laws and rules adopted in relation to women and Daw May Thet Po gave a talk on gender-based violence. Then, Daw Tin Tin Win, chairwoman of Orphanage Reduction and Protection Association, dealt with the constitutional rules and regulations of the association, followed by a group photo session.

 

A total of 250 people including government personnel and school children and local people heard the talk, it is learnt.—Township IPRD
