Insecticide-treated mosquito nets provided to fire victims in Ngape Twsp.

An event to provide insecticide-treated mosquito nets to fire victims was held at the monastery in Layeinsu Village in Ngape Township, Magway Region along with educative talk about healthcare on 1 February.


The event was organized by the township Department of Public Health under the Ministry of Health and Sports with the aim of raising health awareness about use of insecticide-treated mosquito nets in order to protect local people from malaria and dengue. 


At the event, officials from the DPH disseminated knowledge about the benefits of insecticide treated mosquito nets, protection of malaria and dengue hemorrhagic fever, and Japanese encephalitis.


Next, a total of 80 insecticide-treated mosquito nets provided by the Global Fund were distributed to 38 households in the village free of charge.
