Installation of broadcasting equipment at MRTV completed

A project for the extended installation of broadcasting equipment at the Myanma Radio and Television-MRTV was completed yesterday.

A ceremony was held at the MRTV in Yangon to mark the completion of the project, which was reportedly valued at 2,263 million yen.

The project included upgrade of the network system and record-keeping system, outdoor shooting system in two DSNG Vans using digital technology, digitization of old film reels, maintenance of machinery, installation of LED lighting at MRTV (Yangon) and equipment in HD studio, art of drawing computer graphic designs, installation of a virtual record-keeping system, indoor shooting system with DSNG Van, and changing the roof of the MRTV studio.

The supplier for the whole project was Sumitomo Corporation, and the renovation of the MRTV building was done by the Toda Corporation. The NEC installed hardware and software in the sub control room, graphic, virtual, and archive systems, and equipment for the network between Yangon and Tatkon.

The project will improve the process of broadcasting and allow display of different backgrounds using the virtual system. This will also help broadcast new programs.

At the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, U Myo Myint Maung, delivered a speech appreciating the project, and Mr. Akira Nagase, the chief consultant with NHK Technologies Inc., expressed his delight at the completion of the project and handed over the documents pertaining to the project to U Myo Myint Maung. —MNA (Translated by Alphonsus)
