Intense cold wave to hit northwest India

The India Meteorological Department issued an alert on Sunday for three-day intense cold wave conditions and fog over the northwestern part of the country.

The minimum temperatures are in the range of 1-5 degrees Celsius in the region, according to the weather agency.

Delhi and its neighboring states woke up to a chilly and foggy Sunday morning after a brief respite.

Reports said some flights scheduled to depart from the national capital were delayed due to low visibility and railway officials said at least 20 trains were running late.
