The township administrator’s cup inter-school U-14 boys’ football contest was opened at Myoma sports ground in Mahlaing Township, Mandalay Region on 24 August.
On the occasion, Township Administrator U Kyaw Soe delivered an opening speech and participating teams took oath. Next, Regional Lawmaker U Chit Min Thein, the township administrator, Deputy Township Education Officer U Saw Lwin, deputy head of the township police force and an official from the Sports and Physical Education Department cordially greeted the participating teams.
Afterwards, the regional lawmaker kicked a ball into the pitch to formally open the completion. A total of eight squads are taking part in the tourney that runs from 24 to 29 August.—Aung Htay (Mahlaing)
