The Budalin-Nyaungkan-Kane-Kani Road linking Budalin Township with Kani Township in Sagaing Region is being upgraded to a tarred facility by the Department of Road.
About seven furlongs of the road measuring 12 ft. in width is being extended into 18 ft. and improvements for the road is being undertaken by a private construction company under the management of the Department of Road at a cost of K 173.5 million. The project as a whole is about 40 percent completed, said an official from the department.
The road is of vital for connecting the villages on the western side of Chindwin River with some villages on the eastern side of Chindwin River and is used by around 200 vehicles daily.
