The Israeli military is stepping up its attacks on the Gaza Strip on an unprecedented scale.
Israel said on Tuesday that it had struck more than 400 targets in the past 24 hours.
Health authorities in Gaza said 704 people, including 305 children, died within a few hours.
The death toll in Gaza has risen to 5,791 since clashes between Israel and Hamas began on October 7. Children account for nearly half of that number, at 2,360.
At least 1,400 people have died on the Israeli side.
