THE Myanmar Football Federation has officially appointed Japanese national Kurosaki as the head coach of the Myanmar U-22 team. Announcing the decision on 5 February, the federation confirmed that Kurosaki, a former Japan national team player, will lead the squad.
Kurosaki played for the Japan national team from 1989 to 1997 before retiring and moving into coaching. He has managed J-League clubs such as Albirex Niigata and Kashima Antlers, as well as China’s Qingdao club. This year, he will guide the Myanmar U-22 team in major international competitions, including the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, the ASEAN U-22 Championship and the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, aiming for strong performances in these tournaments. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
