Kawthoung Fisheries Department raise blood clams in mangrove

03 Feb

THE Department of Fisheries of Kawthoung District raised the blood clams (Tegillarca granosa) into the mangroves of Pu Lone Tone Tone Village as a move to conserve the marine products yesterday.

The department fixes the close season, no-fishing season, no-collecting hard clam and sanctuary for crab and lobster to conserve the marine resources in townships of Taninthayi Region, Ayeyawady Region, Mon State and Rakhine State and now adds about 10 kilos of blood clams.

The small-scale marine businesses officially export the marine products such as blood clams, crabs and frozen cuttle-fish via Kawthoung to Thailand in accordance with the procedures of the department during COVID-19 pandemic.
