Kawthoung, 14 October

With the boom of tourism industry in Taninthayi Region, Kawthoung, a border town with Thailand is crowded with local and foreign visitors during Thadingyut holidays.

Most of the local travellers came from Yangon, Mandalay and upper Myanmar in accordance with the procedures of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism. Majority of local visitors travelled to significant tourist attraction sites in Kawthoung such as Voctoria Point (or) Bayintnaung Cape, Pyitawaye Pagoda, 555 View Point, Maliwun Fall, Hot Spring, and pristine and unspoiled islands in the Andaman Sea.

With the skyrocketing arrivals of local and foreign travelers to Kawthoung which is located in southernmost part of Myanmar and beautiful islands in the Andaman Sea during Thadingyut holidays, locals who rely on tourism industry in Taninthayi Region are happy with better job opportunities, thereby contributing foreign income for the country.
