KKO splinter group members get government’s assistance

The Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provided cash and kind to those who surrendered to the Border Guard Force in Myaing Gyi Ngu Special Area along with their arms and ammunition.

Officials from the Department of Social Welfare and members of the Border Guard Force led by Kyaw Htoo with the rank of Colonel presented cash assistance and household items contributed by the Department of Rehabilitation and the United Nation’s International Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to members of 38 out of 49 splinter group members from the Klohtoobaw Karen Organization (KKO).

Arrangements are being made to furnish the remaining 11 members of KKO splinter group members with cash and kind.—IPRD
