A ceremony to present cash and kind to flood victims in Kyaikmaraw Township was held at Shwe Hinthar Hall of the General Administration Department in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State this morning.
The relief supplies were donated by Mandalay Region Government and well-wishers in Mandalay Region. At the ceremony, Chief Minister of Mon State Dr. Aye Zan delivered an address and Chief Minister of Mandalay Region Dr. Zaw Myint Maung explained the purpose of donation. Next, the Mandalay Region chief minister presented Ks. 111.2 million and relief items to the Mon State chief minister and cabinet members. The Mon State chief minister returned certificates of honour and spoke words of thanks.
Some residents became flood victims after the water level of Attayan River has exceeded its danger mark following heavy rains in Kyaikmaraw Township for many days since early this month.—Cho Myat Myat Htwe (IPRD)
