THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, NyaungU District, Mandalay Region, conducted a field inspection yesterday to review the completion of a concrete village road constructed under the Village Development Plan (VDP) Project in Paukthit Village, Kyaukpadaung Township.
Kyaukpadaung Township Department of Rural Development Head Daw Aye Aye Thet and staff inspected the completed concrete road construction work. She also met village elders and villagers and discussed the need to collectively maintain and use the concrete road sustainably, while coordinating necessary measures to meet the village’s requirements.
Paukthit Village is implementing village development activities using K15 million allocated under the Village Development Plan (VDP) Project and contributions from locals. With technical assistance and close supervision from officials of the Township Department of Rural Development, the construction of a concrete road measuring 356 feet in length, 12 feet in width and six inches in thickness was carried out by local villagers themselves during the 2026-2027 financial year, and has now been completed 100 per cent to improve year-round rural transportation. — Karan (Rural)
