Kyaukse Township, located in Kyaukse District of Mandalay Region, has planted 52,819 acres of rain-fed paddy for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, with plans to plant an additional 19,980 acres of summer paddy.

The yield for the rain-fed paddy crops was recorded at 90.51 bushels per acre, resulting in a total harvest of 4,037,018 bushels. Of the total planned summer paddy cultivation, 19,980 acres are to be planted across various canal irrigation systems, including: 1,692 acres with Minye Canal water, 3,643 acres with Thindwe Canal water, 1,324 acres with Ngapyaung Canal water, 450 acres with Zeedaw Canal water, 7,798 acres with Nwatet Canal water, 3,303 acres with Tamot Canal water, 1,500 acres with Thindi Canal water.

Kyaukse Township has made significant progress in rice production, supported by the efforts of the Agricultural Research Farm for Socio-Economic Development (Kyaukse) and the District/Township Agriculture Department. These institutions are providing farmers with valuable guidance on planting techniques, harvesting methods, and distributing rice varieties that are well-suited to the region.— Thet Maung (Kyaukse)
