Land compensation offered to farmers in Seikphyu

A ceremony to present land compensation to farmers whose farmlands were confiscated when Aukseik river water pumping project was constructed was held in Myinkawa Village, Seikphyu Township in Magway Region on 14 September.

 

At the ceremony, Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Win Maw Htay explained matters relating to the presentation of land compensation. Next, concerned officials including regional lawmakers and officials from the Department of Rural Development and the Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department presented Ks. 51.80 million of compensation for 37 acres of farmlands belonging to 212 farmers from five village-tracts.
