Local authorities seized drugs in Sitkegyi Ward, Wontho Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, under supervision of Police Major Hla Oo, commander of the Township Police Force, police members led by Police Ispector Than Zaw Mya from Wontho Myoma Police Station together with witnesses raided the house of Win Pe in Sitkegyi Ward in the Town of Wontho at about 2:30 yesterday and arrested Win Pe and Yan Shin from Alesu Village in Wontho Township in the house along with heroin weighing 41 grams and 170 stimulant tablets worth K 4.9 million from them.
Authorities filed charges against the two under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—Lu Aung (Katha)
